We provide practical and emotional support for women who have experienced domestic or family violence.
Banksia Women is a not-for-profit organisation established by St John's Community Services, based in Darlinghurst, Sydney. We provide connection and long term support to women who have experienced domestic and family violence.

We believe all women can heal and flourish.
Escaping a situation of domestic abuse requires a huge amount of courage and commitment from women. However, it is just the beginning of their journey of recovery. What happens in the following weeks, months and years - the support women receive in building a new life, finding stability and building positive relationships - is critical.
We have a range of services, run by qualified female practitioners, specifically designed for women who have experienced domestic or family violence.

What we provide:

  • 'Survivors Connect' - a weekly opportunity to connect with other women who have experienced domestic abuse, speak with a social worker, enjoy a meal and a group activity like meditation, art or yoga.

  • Trauma informed courses

  • Appointments with a lawyer
