Sydney Water is currently repairing a damaged wastewater pipe along the Diamond Bay Cliff walkway, between Kimberley Street and Craig Avenue, Vaucluse. This work will help to improve the wastewater system and ensure it remains reliable, to protect public health and the environment.
The work commenced, Wednesday 7 October 2020, and should take approximately one week to complete, weather permitting. Work will occur between 7am and 5pm Monday to Friday, and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays if required.
The work involves
Setting up a temporary work site compound and vehicle parking on the corner of Kimberley and Ray Streets
Locating and marking out the underground wastewater pipe
Excavating a section of the Diamond Bay Cliff walkway to expose and repair the wastewater pipe
Temporarily restoring the walkway until permanent restoration is completed
Cleaning the site and restoring the area after work is completed
Impacts
There will be no public access along Diamond Bay Cliff walkway between Kimberley Street and Craig Avenue during the work. Temporary security fencing will be installed to secure the work area.
Temporary parking changes on the corner of Kimberley and Ray Streets will be in place during the work. Barriers will be set up along this section of the road for Sydney Water site compound and work vehicles to complete the work.
