Inner City art gallery, THE SPACE Gallery, is opening a new group exhibition, Light & Shade, this Wednesday inside The Cannery, Rosebery, NSW.

THE SPACE Gallery is opening its doors on Wednesday 28 August, exhibiting 3 female photographers.

The inspiration behind the exhibition is the celebration of the basic principles of art, light and shade.

“Understanding these 2 elements form the foundation of any successful artwork. Light and shade visually defines objects and creates depth in what we see.”  says Pascale Rajek, Owner and Art Creator of THE SPACE Gallery.

One of the artists, Renée Campbell, first picked up a camera straight out of high school and found herself drawn to macro photography.
“I’ve always focused on detail and love flowers and getting up close,” she says. “Every flower is a different world and each flower has an individuality.” Says Renée Campbell.

In 2002 Renée was part of a group exhibition at the Australian Centre for Photography. Her colourful, eye-catching pieces, which convey a variety of textures, tones and emotions, were chosen for an exhibition of emerging artists at Sotheby’s and the Australian Consulate in New York City. That led to Renée signing with a Manhattan-based agent and having her own solo exhibition in downtown SoHo.

All artwork will be available to purchase as limited edition prints.
