Looking for modern, secure offices with quality amenities and 24/7 access?
Coworking spaces may be just the answer. Fast gaining in popularity, this shared option offers move-in ready spaces, equipment and services for different small business types and sizes as well as entrepreneurs. Such spaces are particularly attractive when located in a top position, such as Edgecliff.
One of the most convenient locations in Sydney – only six minutes by train to Sydney Town Hall and around 30 minutes to the domestic and international airports – it also has bus and taxi options as well as the Eastpoint shopping centre and medical services. For many, this option has all the advantages of the CBD without the crowding and travel headache, says Angus Hannan, Business Manager of Paddock Offices, which is just two minutes from Edgecliff station. “We get a lot of people further east – such as Watsons Bay, Bondi Junction, Double Bay – who don’t want to travel all the way into the city,” he observes.
On-site parking is also available at Paddock Offices and bike storage is provided. Another coworking drawcard is being able to rent on flexible terms. “There’s no lock-in contract,” Angus explains. “If the business expands, they can move to a bigger space.” Paddock has private offices available for up to three people or businesses can use a number of desks plus ‘quiet spots’ for phone call privacy. Terms are also flexible, from one day to 12 months or more, and boardrooms and meeting rooms cater for up to 20 people. The desk space as well as the desks themselves are generous, as is the storage space, and showers and change rooms are also provided.
The reception is fully staffed from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, while convenient 24-hour access is provided through high-tech fingerprint access so there are no problems with lost keys, swipe cards or codes. Coworking can boost productivity as well as work opportunities. “We have a really good vibe here; there’s always something going on, which is good because I feel productivity depends on it – that’s why people love it here,” Angus reports. Not surprisingly, there’s a very low turnover of businesses. “Retention is a key requirement for us which keeps our service on track.”
